Thank you for your membership of The Haileybury Golf Club in 2010-11.

We hope that it was a great year for you, and we look forward to your return in the New Year.

As the golfing season closes, and the new executive is elected, we start the process of preparing, promoting and planning for our spring opening.

2011-12 Executive Positions

I am really excited about the team we have this year. A great mix of positive people with all the necessary skills, experience and enthusiasm we need to help grow our club.

We have held our first 2011-12 Executive meeting and have all accepted the following responsibilities.

Michel Massie (also Secretary) & Dom Fleury – Course improvement and maintenance.

Rick Walsh – Building & equipment maintenance

Jeff St Cyr – (also Vice President) Tournaments & special events promotion

Jean Pierre Rivet (also Past President) – Administrator, junior program

Stephen Cameron – Marketing & membership promotion

Rose West – Fund raising & volunteer recruitment

Hugo Rivet – Treasurer

Richard Steward - (also President) – Administration

Within these various divisions we have a number of cross responsibilities, as well as drawing on help from a number of volunteers to assist with projects, and tournaments.

Membership Drive 2012.

We applaud our loyal base of corporate and individual sponsors to the club.

Without them we would not be able to complete important projects, put on various events, or be able to give away such generous prizes, throughout the year.

The traditional base of our club does however lie in the dedication and continued patronage of our core annual membership.

For a number of valid reasons, this base has been slowly declining over the last several years. Unfortunately this seems to be a worldwide trend.

As treasurer for the past five years I have tracked this decline and while reactionary pricing promotions may help to encourage short term revenue, I firmly believe there is more that we as an established association can do, to expand our memberships.

Economic climates fluctuate, and naturally people look for the best value for their money, when it comes to playing their favorite game.

HGC maintains and provides an excellent facility for our membership, residents, not for profit organizations and visitors to our area.

The ability to cover these fixed costs is an annual challenge.

In direct response to this your marketing and membership team will be working on ways whereby we can offer more VALUE TO YOUR MEMBERSHIP. Create a better package that gives you the member and potential member a

“Reason to Belong”

We certainly hope that you took advantage of your Bring-a-Buddy Holiday Greeting Card at Christmas and we look forward to meeting your guests in May 2012.

“Memberships are built by Members.”

We value your support, and will be working to improve our facility, the organization and the membership benefits at H.G.C. within the next couple of years to help grow the club and generate the resources necessary to enhance our services.

Regards

Richard B Steward
